What is Ride for the Feast?

Ride for the Feast is a 1-day charity cycling event that began in 2003. The Ride raises money for Moveable Feast a longstanding Baltimore nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving, nutritious foods for low-income Marylanders living with HIV, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions at no cost to clients. Serving 15 Maryland counties, in 2019, Moveable Feast delivered 656,158 healthy meals, serving a total of 4,365 Marylanders. Riders and crew return year after year to be involved in this event because of the amazing people and knowing they are making a difference in the lives of Moveable Feast’s clients.

Is parking available?

There is plenty of on-site FREE parking available at the Talbot Agriculture & Education Center.

What route options are available?

Three different routes will be offered for the 2021 Ride for the Feast event – 100 miles, 62 miles (metric century), and 40 miles. Official routes will be released in April along with downloadable GPX maps riders can access prior to the event.

How do I sign up?

You can register online and specify your participation type. Follow the prompts to complete all information. Contact Events & Communications Manager Carin Prescott with any questions or call 410-327-3420 x 33.

What’s the benefit of joining/starting a team?

Teams are a fun way to participate in Ride for the Feast. Many teams return year after year for this event and have designed their own team jerseys. 

Some teams have their own Facebook groups to communicate with each other. Some teams even organize their own training rides. 

Our corporate teams can also leverage support from coworkers and company matching donations as well as company sponsorships.

Is there a minimum fundraising requirement?

Ride for the Feast is Moveable Feast’s largest annual fundraising event each year. Riders are expected to meet the fundraising minimum of $1,000 in order to participate.

Participants of Move for the Feast do not have a minimum fundraising requirement but have a suggested fundraising goal of $250. If you raise this amount or more, you will receive the official Ride for the Feast t-shirt. 

Where do my donations go?
100% of donations received go directly towards providing healthy meals and services for the clients we serve.
If I receive cash/checks for donations, where do I send them?

Please include your name (and team name if applicable) and either mail these to Moveable Feast, PO Box 2298, Baltimore, MD 21203 or contact Carin Prescott if you would like to drop them off at the office. Checks should be made out to Moveable Feast.

If I create a Facebook fundraiser, will those funds be attributed to my fundraising page?

Creating a Facebook fundraiser makes it easier to push for donations on social media and reach your fundraising goal. Unfortunately, it is not directly integrated with your fundraising page on the website. Donations made on Facebook take up to 45 days to be disbursed to Moveable Feast. As soon as those funds are received, we’ll make sure to add those donations to your fundraising page. If you have questions, contact Carin Prescott.

How do I volunteer for Ride for the Feast?

If you’re interested in volunteering on the day of the event, check out the list of volunteer opportunities. You can register online for any of these. Registration is free for volunteers.

What assistance is provided to help with fundraising?

Check out the Fundraising page for helpful tips and resources. Other information is provided in Ride Bites, which is the event e-newsletter that is emailed regularly starting in December.
